Veterans of World War II meet on Russian-Georgian border

On May 8, on the eve of the 67th anniversary of Victory in the World War II, in the area of the state border between Russia and Georgia, near a long-term fire point, a meeting of veterans was held. HRC "Memorial" gives materials on power agents' crimes to ICRF

Today, the materials gathered by the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial"on the crimes committed, according to human rights defenders, by law enforcement officials in Kabardino-Balkaria, Ingushetia, North Ossetia and Chechnya, were sent to Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigatory Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), to be investigated by the special unit of the ICRF.

Complaints of victims of 2004 Beslan terror communicated by ECtHR

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has communicated to the Russian Federation seven complaints against violation by the state the rights to life and effective remedy in respect of acts and inaction of the authorities before, during and after the hostage-taking at School No. 1 in Beslan on September 1, 2004. The whole proceeding was awarded the name "Tagaeva and others versusRussia and six other complaints".

Zalina Gabibulaeva,a resident of Dagestan, who was detainedat the road patrol checkpoint "Chermen" between Ingushetia and North Ossetia, was on her way to Nalchikaiming to get a permit to marriage with Rasul Kudaev, one of the defendants in the caseon events on October 13, 2005. This is stated in Gabibulaeva's application to the chair of the court dealing with this case.

The sentence to the owner of a house in Vladikavkaz where gas exploded during a wedding altered for a conditional one

The Supreme Court of North Ossetia altered the sentence to Vadim Vazagov in whose house a gas bottle exploded during a wedding last year, nine persons perished and 50 got injured as a result. The sentence was altered by the court for a conditional one.
